- Grey baseplate 11024, 48x48 studs, size 38x38 cm.
- 2 304 1x1 elements of different colours and shapes. (See Materials Guide here) You can use tiles (flat surface) and plates (stud on top); round, square, half circle or quarter shapes.
- Bricks separator – tool to help you remove pieces from the plate when necessary.
What if I don’t have all the colours listed in the instruction inventory?
Not a problem. Use similar colours that you have in your collection instead. For example, blue, turquoise and azure are interchangeable and can easily replace each other. Nuances of red, orange and pink can also be successfully interchanged. Many other colours too.

Experiment and see what works best. Any deviation from the mosaic instruction can add a personal touch and a bit of uniqueness to your end result.
How many colours do I need to have in my home collection?
LEGO currently offers 1x1 elements in 44 solid colours. (All listed here)
If you're passionate about making mosaics with LEGO, the variety of colours in your collection matters. A wider colour range allows you to create more detailed and intricate designs, so ideally you should have all of them. However, in the beginning even just 12 colours will allow you to create beautiful mosaics.Â
Since LEGO pieces are a reusable material, you can invest in a diverse colour palette once and it will provide you with endless opportunities for years to come.Â
